The National League of Licensed Investigators are asking for volunteer members across the U.S. to Join our new and improved, Cold Case Team....this team is not for everyone, however, if you're interested in donating several hours a week, if a missing person cold case if determined to be in your area, and you are willing to work "pro bono", we would like to hear from you.....at: tomloospI@aol.com

A message from Gil Alba

There are three types of investigations on a cold case such as the Heather Teague Case . . . missing/murdered

1.) The Police Investigation

2.) The Family Investigation

3.) The Private Investigator Investigation

Law enforcement conducts their investigation and provides information to the media and family. However, the information the police provide is just that, public information. The police do not share certain facts with the family or the private investigator.

Families have unrealistic expectations and without any help from the police or an experienced investigator they (families) may focus on things that may not be relevant to proving the case.

Private investigators either work for the family pro bono or are hired by the family. There are ways to work the case as a PI.

One way is to do a similar or parallel investigation as the police.

Personally, I get the family involved in the investigation. What I believe to be one of the most important aspects of the investigation is to listen to the family and help them cope with such a disaster.

The end results may not always be possible, but the journey with the family involved makes for great satisfaction with the PI.
